Final Image

This is my final 4 panel all placed together showing the change from structure to noise. My idea is based on the concept of looking at something under a microscope. This is what has inspired my colour pallette as i wanted it to look cold and sterile and artificial (like its in a laboratory). I have also used this idea to inspire how across the board it is as though the 'object' is being more and more zoomed in on as more details can be seen but the form starts to be lost. My form is made by having layers and layers of circles drawn by circles then adjusting the variables like width, height and amount of small circles in each big circle etc

Final Stop Motion Video

The link to my final stop motion video. I am pleased with the way it expresses my design statement of the importance of design history and how we should remember what an influence it has been on design today.

One Word Animation - Final Movie

Here is my final movie of the word SEASONS

One Word Animation - Storyboards

My storyboards, expanded versions of my three favorite ideas from my brainstorms:

Arachnophobia (fear of spiders). I like this word/idea because I am able to use the animation to help explain the definition of arachnophobia without it becoming too symbolic. I also like that it is easy to give a story to the characters and make it fun so the animation becomes a performance.

Stealthy. This idea was one of my favorites because it gave the letters the most personality. If I properly executed this idea I think it could become quite comic as I would want to make each letter a character of their own rather than have the word perform as a whole. To make this piece more interesting I put in the idea of having one of the letters do the opposite of the word to add a new element to the animation.

Seasons. I really like this idea as, although it is one of the more complicated of my ideas, i think it would force me to explore a lot more new ways to do things on flash rather than just learn to do one thing for the whole word. I would want to make each season very different from the last by bringing in new features of flash. I also think this idea would be effectively enhanced by the use of sound effects as noises of nature could be added to help represent each season.

One Word Animation - Brainstorms

My 8 brainstorm story boards:

Because I had never heard of let alone used flash before this project, I purposely chose starting points that I thought would be quite simple and easier to work with. I also tried to veer away from being too symbolic with the word and just make whatever the word represents out of letters as at first this was my only idea for every word I came up with. I have kept my brainstorms very simple and tried to pick out the four most key moments in each piece without adding in too much detail as they are only rough ideas.
