This is a screen shot i took of playing with the opacity of the circles, this see-through blue colour makes me think of looking at objects under a micro scope which has given me a new inspiration for my precedent, i still want to work with my circle idea but make it more sterile and cold looking rather than soft and organic which is what i was originally aiming for - I think this could be more of a challenge as a circle is a softer shape but i want to push my ideas more.

Inspiration
i had a look at openprocessing for inspiration on patterns/colours/arrangements I could use and found that t was a great place to look. I found that when all these images were placed together in the same place is was easy to look at them all and decide which ones were more structure and which ones were more noise to get a clearer idea of how I personally distinguished the two.
Below is a link to a sketch that I thought was a very simple yet clear representation of structure
http://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/10433
The next link is a sketch that I found that is very similar to the 'structure' one however it is as if someone has transformed it to become noise.

Although these are in black and white they definitely helped me gain a clearer idea on what i an aiming to achieve across the 4 panels

Playing with Colour/ Precendents
Disocvered how to use the pattern maker code into a way of creating gradients to have a look at colour schemes between two colours to see how the work and blend together.
This screen shot and image is looking at the idea of using flowers opening as my precedent. I am leaning toward using circles as my main shape for my images so want to base my idea of a object that is really organic and natural. This is an idea of the kind of colour scheme I could look into using to create a really soft piece of design.

Another idea I had for a precedent was using sea shells. I think they provided a nice neutral colour scheme and the patterns made with the shells i.e spirals, and layering of different designs on one shell to create a unique pattern would be something that would be fun to explore.

Colour Game
This is a link to the game where the name of the color is written in a different color and you have to click on what color it is written in, not the word, e.g. if pink is written in blue then you have to click the blue button.
This game has come up as an example so I though I would try it out, i found it is a perfect way of explaining how you can create an experience for someone by confusing their senses. It is amazing that something so simple can be so difficult to do.

Another Inspiration...
Someone brought in a Rubix Cube as their playful object to one of the tutorials which i thought was another fantastic example of the kind of project that the brief is looking for. I loved the idea of how it combines touch with sight and is such a simple idea yet so difficult to execute. Rubix cubes confuse the senses by often not going the way you think it will, for example you think a certain move will create a certain effect but often it ends up changing something else along the way. This is why so often you can have 2 or 3 sides that have all but one square complete with the same color but one more and it ruins all the sides at once. I think a rubix cube is a perfect example of a cause and effect project.

Ideas for final film.
This short stop motion produced by Colenso BBDO and animated by Andersen M Studio as a film for the NZ Book Council is one of my key inspirations that I plan to use in my final film.

The idea of using a book as the main setting of my film strikes a chord with me as I am an avid reader as it is. The use of literature is an element I would love to include in my final project.
